Start with the bracket that opens to the right by placing it against the top left of the window frame's interior, then drill a hole using a bit attached that is just a bit smaller than your screws. Continue in the same manner with the bracket to the left

Step 5: Screw The Brackets Into Position

Remove the drill and put in the screw that comes with the blind. While holding the left-hand bracket in place, drill the screws into the prepared pilot holes. 

To completely secure the bracket in place, drill each screw as far as possible. On the other side of your frame, repeat this procedure. For each bracket, most blinds are delivered with 2-4 screws. For the tightest fitting, use as many screws as you can.

Step 6: Install The Valence And Headrail

You probably have a valence, which is a cover that fits over the top railing of your blinds to cover up the brackets. However, before installing the valence, slide the headrail (the top section of the blinds) into the brackets one side at a time. 

You may install the valance by following the instructions with your blinds. Typically, the valance is slid over the top railing of the blinds after being fastened to a few clips.

You are ready to go as soon as your valence is fastened. Continue installing the rest of the blinds in the same manner as you did with the first one.

How Deep Should Inside Mount Blinds Be?

For a blind to be perfect inside mount, a minimum of 3/4 inch of window depth is needed to attach the brackets. If the depth of the window is higher, the blinds won't be flush, but you can still install them inside the window frame.

No, it doesn't matter if a blind is too long or, more specifically, if it is longer than the required minimum length. The extra length can still be rolled up around the tube at the top, so there are no functional problems, and it isn't noticeable.

However, if your blinds are fitted inside the window frame or opening, your may need to cut off the excess as shades and blinds must properly suit the window's dimensions.
